Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account, placing orders, or contacting support — including your name, email, phone number, delivery address, and payment method details. We also collect usage data such as pages viewed and search queries to improve your experience.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to process orders, send delivery updates, handle returns and disputes, personalise your shopping experience, send promotional emails (only if you opt in), and comply with legal obligations under Ghanaian law.

Sharing Your Information

We share your data only with: sellers fulfilling your orders (name, delivery address, order contents), logistics partners for delivery, payment processors for transaction processing, and regulatory authorities when legally required. We never sell your personal data.

Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Payment card details are processed by PCI-DSS compliant payment partners and never stored on our servers. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised Ololo Express staff.

Your Rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting [email protected]. You may also withdraw consent to measurement or advertising — immediately, from the Privacy choices link in the footer — request data portability, or object to certain processing activities. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Cookies and Your Choices

Essential cookies keep you signed in and hold your cart; these are always active. Two further categories are optional and off until you turn them on: measurement cookies, which tell us which pages and products are used so we can fix what does not work, and advertising cookies, which record the products and categories you browse. You are asked when you first visit, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Privacy choices link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing deletes the identifiers involved. Declining either does not affect any part of the service.

Advertising and Personalised Ads

Sellers pay to promote products and stores on Ololo Express. If you allow advertising cookies, we group you with other shoppers by what you have viewed, added to a cart, or bought — for example, shoppers who looked at a category recently and did not order — so a seller can choose to reach that group. Sellers choose the group; they never see who is in it, and they receive no name, contact detail, or browsing history about you. If you do not allow advertising cookies you will still see ads, but they will be based on the page you are looking at rather than on your history. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertising networks outside Ololo Express.

How Long We Keep Data

Advertising history is kept for 90 days and then deleted, so a group you fall into reflects what you are interested in now rather than years ago. Measurement data is kept for 24 months in aggregate. Order and payment records are kept for the period Ghanaian tax and consumer-protection law requires, regardless of your cookie choices, because we are obliged to keep them.
